1f - Selecting recipients
Selecting recipients
To send your message, you must, of course, determine who will receive it. Various options are available, but for now, let's keep in mind that it can be sent to:
- A group
- A geogroup
- A single recipient
- A number of recipients
The list of available groups is located in the Predefined groups tab. A second tab called Geogroups can be used as well to select contacts from a map.

By choosing a predefined group or geogroup, recipients of these groups will be selected in the right-hand section (Recipients and Map tabs). Note that only one group or geogroup can be selected at a time.

More information about creating groups, geogroups and how to modify them is available in Part 2.
It is also possible to select one or more recipients from the Recipients tab. This is called a spontaneous selection. This allows you to send a message to a few contacts without having to create a group.
As this is your first mailing, a good way to test Message Express is to send a message to yourself to ensure that it is ready and complete for mass mailing. Simply select your own name from the recipient list. If you are not in the list, use the Add button.

Later on in this guide, we will cover the drawing tools in the Map tab. As seen above, they allow contacts to be selected according to their position by using geometric shapes.
When the message is ready, you may proceed with its transmission.
